"Current Modules" Help
In the "Current Modules" screen you will normally see your modules relating to the current academic year. Please check which academic year is being displayed. Towards the end of the academic year (around May/June) this screen will display only units to be taken in a "future" academic year, even if you are not choosing modules for next year. If this screen is blank the most likely reason is that no compulsory modules have been generated yet. Please email registration@bath.ac.uk if no modules are showing. You cannot add or delete modules in this screen. If you wish to see a full list of modules you have taken in both the current academic year and previous years (if applicable) please use the "Previous Modules" report which can be found in the Student Reports area of SAMIS on the web
Explanation of the data displayed:
Year: academic year you are taking the module
Period: S1 (semester 1); S2 (semester 2); AY (year-long) when you are taking the module.
Status:
- Codes ending O = Optional
- Codes ending C = Compulsory
- Codes ending D = Designated essential unit
- Codes ending X = Optional Designated essential unit
- Codes ending E = Extra
- Codes ending A = Audited
- Codes ending S = Stage required unit (Postgraduate students only)
- Codes ending Z = Stage required unit which is also a Designated essential unit (Postgraduate students only)
Occ = Occurrence code:
- A if you are a non-finalist undergraduate
- AF if you are an undergraduate finalist
- AFR if you are an undergraduate finalist taking a DEU
- AP if you are a postgraduate
- AV if you are an incoming visiting/exchange student
Level:
- F = Foundation (FHEQ level 3)
- C = Certificate (FHEQ level 4, normally year 1 undergraduate)
- I = Intermediate (FHEQ level 5, normally year 2 undergraduate)
- H = Honours (FHEQ level 6, normally year 3 undergraduate)
- M = Masters (FHEQ level 7, normally year 4 undergraduate or postgraduate)
Credits: number of credits the module is worth. Full-time undergraduates normally take 60 credits per year; full-time postgraduates normally take 90 credits per year on a masters programme.
